How Does FaceTite Work?

FaceTite harnesses radio frequency assisted liposuction to tighten the subcutaneous tissue while removing excess fat tightening the lower face and neck. The skin remodelling occurs because the heat underneath the surface causes subsequent contraction of lax skin and fosters new collagen formation. In some cases:

VASER Liposuction is combined to remove unwanted fat cells along the jawline or under the chin, further enhancing contouring.
Neck Bands: When there are prominent platysmal bands, additional techniques such as platysmaplasty can be considered. A platysmaplasty is usually done as part of a lower face lift.

Treatment Steps

Assessment

We’ll examine skin laxity, existing fatty tissues, and areas of saggy skin around the jaw and neck. If needed, we can perform a 3D treatment simulation so you can visualise potential outcomes from FaceTite versus other cosmetic treatments.

Local Anaesthesia

A light sedation (tablets) and local anesthesia is administered for a comfortable experience. The entire FaceTite procedure typically takes 60–70 minutes.

Radiofrequency Energy Delivery

Through small puncture holes, the FaceTite cannula delivers precise radiofrequency energy to the treatment area, causing adequate heating of the subcutaneous tissues and facilitating fat removal if necessary.

Skin Tightening and Contouring

The controlled thermal effect promotes skin contraction and collagen production, refining the jawline, under-chin angle, and overall facial contours.

Compression Garment

We apply a head garment that you must wear continuously for 3 days to reduce swelling and support healing. For best results, we recommend wearing it during the evenings or when you’re at home for up to 2 weeks.

What to Expect After FaceTite

Minimal Downtime

Most patients experience mild swelling or bruising for about a week, along with some firmness in the treated area. This is normal and usually resolves within a few weeks.

Natural, Progressive Results

The skin continues to tighten for up to 6 months, leading to gradual, natural improvement in your appearance. You can typically resume daily activities soon, though we advise avoiding strenuous exercise until cleared by the doctor.

Detailed Care

Is FaceTite as good as a face lift?

FaceTite delivers dramatic improvement for moderate skin laxity and excess fat but does not match the lifting power of a traditional facelift. For significant sagging, a surgical facelift may be the preferred option, which we also perform under local anaesthesia.

Does FaceTite get rid of jowls?

FaceTite does reduce the appearance of jowls. By melting fat around the jawline and tightening skin in that area, FaceTite can effectively reduce jowls and define the lower face. It’s ideal for those who want a noticeable yet minimally invasive improvement.

Are there side effects with FaceTite?

Common side effects include mild swelling, bruising, or feeling numb in the treatment area, typically lasting about one week. Serious complications, like permanent nerve damage, are very rare when performed correctly.

How much does FaceTite cost?

Costs vary depending on the areas treated and any additional procedures like VASER liposuction or buccal fat removal. We provide an exact quote after a thorough assessment. The consultation fee is deducted from the price of the procedure if you proceed within six months.

Can I go back to work soon after FaceTite?

Most people resume normal activities within a few days. We recommend wearing a compression garment for 3 days day and night, then at home or in the evenings for an additional 2 weeks to enhance healing and reduce swelling.

Does FaceTite melt fat?

We have many years’ experience performing FaceTite and we can tailor the procedure to achieve skin tightening, fat reduction, or both. If there is minimal fat, we primarily use FaceTite to gently heat the dermis (and not to remove fat). If there is stubborn fat obscuring definition, we perform suction and usually add VASER. Only prolonged, deliberate heating of subcutaneous fat can reduce it—so it’s important to only consider this procedure with an expert who will deliver according to the indication and avoid unwanted effects.

When are stitches removed?

Usually there are NO stiches required! The entry incisions are so small (2-3mm), they are covered with sterile dressings and heal within a few days without the need for stitching. Open drainage actually helps swelling subside more quickly.
